4 areas of your life that are affecting your subconscious mind and how you show up in your business
When I say “popcorn,” what is the next word that comes to your mind?
If it is “movies,” your subconscious mind has certainly been trained to make that association 😉
It has been fed in much the same way by many other messages that are influencing your beliefs and your behaviors in life and in business, without you even knowing!
The way you show up in your business comes down to your mindset.
Your behavior is indeed directly influenced by a whole range of thoughts and values that you have, which are formed from childhood but also throughout your life.
In fact, one thing that affects your mindset is the subliminal messages that your subconscious mind receives. Not all subliminal messages are bad, but you need to understand their impact.
In this article, I will share the four areas of your life where you are consuming invisible messages that are impacting your business results, and how you can choose to consume the messages that will set you up for success.

These are the four areas of your life where you are influenced by subliminal messages that, in turn, impact your mindset:
1. The people you surround yourself with.
The words, actions, values and beliefs of the people you interact with — your family members, peers and friends — will influence you over time. Being mindful of who you spend the most time with will help you build a community that inspires you to stay positive and focus on your goals.
2. The content you consume.
The content we expose ourselves to is full of subliminal messages that can impact more than just our confidence. Choose the social media, books, podcasts, TV shows and news you consume consciously to ensure what you are taking away from them is helpful, not harmful.
3. The daily routines you have.
Humans are creatures of habit, and those habits can either work for us or against us. Take a look at your daily habits and those of the people you admire to see what is serving you and what you can change, like adding a morning walk or ending each day with a moment of gratitude. Two of my favorite resources on this subject are Atomic Habits by James Clear and Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod.
4. The experiences you create.
As a business owner, it can be easy to forget there is life outside of work. But that balance is so important for your mindset. Make time for enriching activities that bring you joy, like visiting a museum, taking an art class or going to a spa. How you choose to relax really does matter.
Your subconscious mind is constantly being fed subliminal messages. Being aware of the messages you are consuming and choosing the ones that serve you best will allow you to show up to your full potential in your business.
