Now that we have seen how to use the ressources around you but also how to capitalize on your unique talents to build your portable plan, you will need to start somewhere to make your plans happen.

Here is the third tip to build your portable plan!

take the moment and make it perfect!

3. Don't be afraid to take the leap!

Once you know what you want to do and what will really get you going, don't ponder over it for too long. Just take action, don't be afraid to make mistakes, to take risks or to fail.  You will learn while you are doing it.Believe in yourself and overcome the fear by thinking of each mistake and each failure as a step closer to your goals.Success does not come over night, the journey will probably be full of bumpy roads but you need to be patient while learning and adjusting the measures to take along the way.

However, here is some concrete tips that I would like to share with you to help you take the leap:

  • Identify the source

Ask yourself: what is really stopping you from moving forward and taking action? What can you do about it? If it is a sort of fear, is there any way you can rationalize this fear or hesitation and turn it into a motivation rather than an obstacle? You need to realize that what you could gain from taking action is greater than what you could lose. Indeed, "if you don't take a chance, you don't stand a chance".

  • Don't make excuses

Don't let your busy family life take over, it is your responsibility  to invest in yourself. It is your responsibility to invest time, energy and resources in your personal development and growth. Decide how much time per week you can dedicate to make your plan come true. Make it a fixed time during the day or the week, involve your family to help you make time for it and commit to it! Even if it is just one hour per week for example, better than nothing...

  • Start with baby steps

You should not stop yourself from having big dreams, but in order to achieve big goals the best way is to break them into small achievable objectives. Also, make sure to visualize these objectives, track them and evaluate them (For example, have a timeline on your wall). If you do not reach certain objectives, don't give up right there! Ask yourself what has stopped you and what can you improve or implement to facilitate the process.

Take action now!

  • Stop listening to the negative voices in your head that make you doubt about yourself.

  • Ask yourself what is the smallest action you can take right now to move one step closer to your goal.
